I don't work with public companies, but I do observe the general economic conditions. Right now, the stock market has tanked, and inflation has continued to go up. The world is in a chaotic space right now. Many of my corporate clients are looking for opportunities to sell their businesses. These people went through the great recession of 2008; now they've gone through the pandemic, and they’re not sure if they have five or eight years to see this all turnaround, and that is if it does turnaround in that timeframe. We don’t know what’s going to happen.
Unfortunately, I don't see an end to the war in Europe, which impacts businesses here in the U.S. There’s also a lot of political turmoil here. We don't know what the economic conditions will be in the next few years, but if they’re anything like the last few, we are in for a tumultuous ride. If you’re asking, what can I do to sell now? The good news is that there are people with money looking for businesses to buy. So in terms of timing, I think people are aware that, that this could be as good a time as any to sell their business.
